There’s a point in many women’s lives , often somewhere between juggling careers, families, ageing parents, and the general chaos of being a functioning adult. When something shifts, it’s not dramatic. It’s not a crisis. It’s more like a quiet internal nudge that says:
“I think I’m done with the nonsense.”
For some of us, that shift coincides with menopause. For others, it’s a big birthday, a big job, a big loss, or simply waking up one day and realising that the life you built is full… but you’re craving space.
Space to breathe. Space to think. Space to remember who you are outside of your calendar.
For me, that space has always been the trail.
I’ve been hiking for more than 30 years, long before it became a hashtag. I’ve walked through rainforests, ridgelines, alpine passes, and all the way to Everest Base Camp. And the thing that keeps pulling me back isn’t the views (although they’re nice). It’s the simplicity.
One foot forward. Then another. No multitasking. No performance. No pretending.
Just movement, breath, and the kind of clarity that only arrives when the world goes quiet.
As I moved into midlife, I realised how many women around me were craving that same simplicity. Not because they were slowing down, but because they were waking up. They were tired of being everything to everyone. They were tired of noise. They were tired of carrying invisible loads.
And they were ready for something different.
Not more. Not bigger. Just… different.
A different pace. A different kind of challenge. A different kind of community.
Women who’ve lived enough life to know what matters, and what absolutely doesn’t.
Women who want adventure without chaos. Comfort without losing grit. Connection without the “rah‑rah” energy. Safety without feeling babied. Challenge without ego.
And that’s why I created Ascent Co.
Not as a fitness program. Not as a “find yourself” retreat. Not as a midlife makeover.
But as a space for women who want to walk, literally and metaphorically, into the next chapter of their lives with intention.
A space where:
- you don’t have to be the fittest;
- you don’t have to be the youngest;
- you don’t have to be fearless;
- you don’t have to be anything other than yourself!
A space where menopause, midlife, or mindset shifts aren’t taboo, they’re simply part of the story. A story many of us share, even if we don’t talk about it.
My background in environmental science and climate change, means I bring a different kind of expertise to the trail. I understand the terrain, the risks, the ecosystems, the weather patterns. I understand how to move through landscapes with respect and awareness. And I understand how to create experiences that feel safe, premium, and deeply human.
Ascent Co. is for women who want to move forward — one foot, one trail, one ascent at a time.
If you’re feeling that quiet nudge, the one that says you want less noise and more meaning, you’re in the right place.
Let’s walk this chapter together.
